Our Minister
I grew up in Guisborough, a town on the edge of the North York Moors, so, while I’m not quite in my native Yorkshire, I am genuinely delighted to be in the North East. I’ve been a Methodist Minister since 2003. Before going “into the ministry” I worked for a computer software company in Liverpool. After training at the Wesley Study Centre in Durham, I served my first appointment in Acomb, near York, and then spent seven years ministering in the North West Durham Circuit, and based in the village of Lanchester. I am married to Tracey (who is also a Minister, currently working as our District Community Engagement Enabler) and we have two grown up children, Sarah and Cameron. I love music, and I am a keen musician, singer and songwriter (and occasionally include this in my preaching and leading of worship). I hope that you’ll forgive me for being a Middlesbrough FC supporter (well, someone has to be – but I am happy to see all the North East teams do well). I enjoy camping and walking in the Yorkshire Dales.
Every blessing, Gavin |
