I often wonder what people want to know when they look at the information on a website, introducing the minister…
I am Helen White and I’ve been a Methodist minister since 1998, having trained at Queen’s College, Birmingham. My first appointment was in the South East Berkshire Circuit, working with churches in Bracknell, Sunninghill, Winkfield Row and Woosehill. Since then I’ve served in Wantage and Abingdon (living in Didcot), Derby, Leeds North and East and Leicester Trinity. Apart from dipping back down for a year in Leicester I’ve been making steady progress north, and have now arrived in the north east.
I am married to Paula who is also a minister, working in the Sunderland Circuit. We have a beagle called Patch who’s very friendly, but his nose and desire for food often lead him into trouble!!
I took up padddleboarding up a couple of years ago and am looking forward to exploring the rivers and lakes of the north east, and having a go at paddleboarding in the sea. It was quite a long way to the sea from Leeds and Leicester so most of my experience has been on canals. I also enjoy walking, whether that’s walking the dog, or a longer hike on my own. Paired with that, I like maps - and am delighted with an excuse to buy new OS maps covering the north east.
