Welcome to St Andrew's Church, Benton

While we are unable to meet together face to face during  the restrictions caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, we hope that the following resources may be useful.

Firstly, here's some prayers and a reflection for Sunday 29th March, from our minister, Gavin:

You may find it helpful to have a Bible handy, and to read the full gospel passage for this Sunday - John 11:1-45.
(Alternatively you can read it here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+11%3A1-45&version=NIVUK)

As a response to the message, this song by Geraldine Latty is suggested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgdjAK9ZZGk

There are some worship at home sheets. This one is produced by the Methodist Church: Worship at Home

And another produced by twelvebaskets: Vine at Home

If you know people who do not have internet access who might appreciate these resources, perhaps you could print and deliver them?

Also for those without internet access, BBC local radio stations will be broadcasting a service given by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, at 8am each Sunday.

A number of churches are live streaming worship. Here’s a few in our area:

    1. Trinity Gosforth – the link for streaming worship on YouTube from Trinity is https://www.youtube.com/user/trinitygosforthtube.

(For clarity - once you’ve opened Trinity’s page, if necessary click on the Trinity logo at the top of the page, scroll down to find the LIVE feed and click).

    1. Jesmond Methodist Church - live streaming at 10:45am on the JMC Facebook page: That link is https://www.facebook.com/JesmondMethodistChurch/

You don't need a Facebook account to view it but if you wanted to interact such as comment you would need one. They are looking to do this over youtube as well potentially but for now, just sticking with Facebook!

    1. Mixing Bowl will have a weekly online presence via their website (https://www.saw-newcastle.org/) and Mailchimp, which will include a reflection and suggested creative activity. See the first one here.

And nationally, here’s a few more:

Wesley’s Chapel in London (Wednesday 12.45, Thursday 12.45 and Sunday 9.45 and 11.00)

Swan Bank Methodist Church in Burslem (Sunday 10.30am)

Methodist Central Hall, Westminster (Sunday 11am)

For prayer and devotions during the week, you may also want to check out the resources on offer by the Northumbria Community:  www.northumbriacommunity.org

In response to national advice from the Methodist and United Reformed Churches, all worship services and physical meetings are currently suspended.

Please pass this information on to those without internet access.
