Peace

Lord Jesus,

“Peace be with you” was your constant greeting.

And so we pray for the peace that brings

freedom out of fear,

hope out of grief,

dignity out of violation.

Lead our sisters and brothers

out of the valley of the shadow of death

to a place of still waters,

green pastures and restoration.

And may your peace be in our acting,

        our giving and our praying.

“Peace be with you in the name of Christ.” Amen.
