Jesus

I believe that I have laid my eyes on Jesus!

It will be hard for anyone to believe that this is true, but it is!

I grew up in a non Christian home, but I always believed that there must be a god somewhere. One night when I was about 15 years old, I prayed 'god if you are there, then show yourself'.

That very night I had a dream, at least I think it was a dream, but I will never know if it happened while I was awake or not. But awake or asleep, it happened.

I got up from my bed and went to the window. I looked into the distance and saw a star, bigger and brighter than all the rest.  I watched it come closer and closer to me, then suddenly the star turned into a very bright and shining cross. As I watched, the cross turned into a man clothed in a luminous, bright shining robe.  Something inside myself said quite clearly 'this is Jesus Christ'. And I just 'knew' it was Him.

He came and stood still in front of me and we just looked at each other.  I could have stayed there just looking into His eyes for all eternity, I never wanted to take my eyes off Him.

But He turned to go.  We actually hadn't said a word to each other but in my mind I said 'please don't go, stay a bit longer'.  He said to me "I will never leave you, I will always be with you".  Then He went back up into the sky where He had came from.

Then I woke up in my bed, and I went straight to the window, where I expected to see Him or at least see that huge star, but there was nothing.

'What a let down' I thought. I longed to see Him again, but i was left thinking that it must have just been a dream.  After all, who would say to me "I will never leave you, I will always be with you" just before he went away out of sight.

I was not familiar with the Bible at the time, in fact I had never read it except for the first few paragraphs in Genesis. I had never in my life read or even heard of the words that Jesus spoke to his disciples in Matthew 28:20 " I am with you always, even to the end of the world".

I forgot about that 'dream' until many years later, when I became a Christian at the age of 33.  When I began to read my Bible, I came across the words "I am with you always", and I remembered the 'dream' and now I know He is always with me, because He said He would be.
