Feeding of the 5,000

A Miracle?

Did Jesus really feed the 5,000 with only five loaves and two fish? Is it possible? Is it just a story that is not really true? Can things like that still happen today? It is very hard to understand, isn’t it? How could that have possibly happened? I wonder how many people today actually believe it?

I do!

Something like that has happened in my life, that is how I can believe it.

My sister and her family were in dire straights and did not even have the money to buy a loaf of bread. When she told me about it, I knew I had to try and do something, but I didn’t know what I could do because at the time my own family were living hand to mouth. I was just about managing to put food on the table but there was certainly no money for any extras, even a packet of biscuits was out of the question.
Anyway, after prayer I felt that I should go shopping and put two of everything in my basket. I did that, and bought the makings of 14 main meals, (enough to feed two families for a week)  plus other things, even biscuits. My sisters children were only toddlers so I felt that biscuits were a must for them. (So my children got some too, much to their delight!) When I took the shopping home, I put half into bags and the other half into our cupboards. Then I stood back in amazement. I could not believe my eyes! My cupboards were full as they had never been before. I looked on the floor and there were at least 6 bags full of food waiting to be taken to my sister. Don’t ask me how it happened, I do not know, and still cannot understand it to this day. The only explanation is that it was a miracle. I had spent no more money than I did every week, and yet there was all this food. How? You tell me!
This story is true, I can hardly believe it myself, but it is the truth. It is indeed a miracle.

I know that miracles can still happen today, when we put all of our trust in Him, he will not let us down.

Isn’t our God great?
